What was done?

As part of human centred design, we were challenged to design a product to encourage gardening and plant keeping in urban areas. The product should be focused on the user, and how they interact with the product, with the majority of research done around the user in the form of interviews, focus groups and surveys.

Through user consultation, key design principals and market research we came up with Walze. This plant pot features a self watering system for when the user is away, meaning keeping plants is less of a commitment. It also features an ‘egg timer’ style base so that the user is reminded to water the plant when required and also can see different sides of the plant in the rotating pot during the day.
